About Us

Our anesthesia group was incorporated by the State of Texas on January 1, 1961. The first members of the group were Dr. Harold C. Boehning, and  Dr. Gerald Mullican, soon joined by Dr. L.C. Smith and Dr. Oneita Hedgecock. The practice was one of the first incorporated anesthesiology groups in the State of Texas and this was accomplished with the advice of Mr. George Ray, an attorney prominent in the area of incorporating medical group practices. The premise of the group is the consultative basis of medical practice, whereby our surgeons freely choose to work with or consult our associates to provide care for their patients.

One of the founding partners, Dr. Harold Boehning served as the President of the Dallas County Medical society in 1984, and was awarded the Max Cole Distinguished Service Award by the Dallas County Medical Society in 1995. He was also active in the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists and served one year as president in 1978-1979 and was awarded their Distinguished Service Award in 1994. Dr. Boehning retired from clinical practice and still lives in Dallas. In the 1990s two other associates retired from the practice, Dr. John W. Jackson, and Dr. Oneita F. Hedgecock (deceased).

The practice was originally based strictly at Baylor and Gaston Hospitals, with an office at the Barnett Tower at Baylor until 1998, when offices were moved to the corner of Fitzhugh and Central. About that time the group began expanding practice to Mary Shiels (now Baylor Uptown), Medical City Hospital, and Presbyterian Hospital. Since that time the group has expanded coverage within Dallas and acquired clinical responsibilities in Arlington, Frisco, and Heath.
